I have experienced light bulb sockets corrosion last season. I was unable to find replacement socket and the only option was to buy a complete turn light assembly from the dealer ($35-$40CDN each) . Since I needed 2 replacement (LF & RR), I went to Plan "B" Found these inexpensive LED turn signals (4 for $9CDN) that fit inside the stock housing. After trimming the metal threaded part, I was able to fit the LED Inside the turn signal Completed LED replacement A new LED relay flasher ($3CDN) was installed (no resistors required) Turn Signal Operating (No Hyperflash) Turn Indicator also working
Hard to tell, maybe not as bright as the stock bulb with the silver reflector. In hindsight I should took pictures with one side incandescent and one side LED to compare . Note: The front turn indicators have a 12W/5W circuits. The 5W running lights was not used. I am still street legal. (We have 2 years safety inspection in this Province). Anyway, that was plan "B" we will see how well they hold after the 2018 seasons.
Not sure if you have seen these: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU5Pwem9ngs Motogadget bar end, LED turn signals. They are bright and small...if you crash alot, too bad for you. I like them a whole lot...small, super light weight. I have 4...two for bar ends up front and two that will go on my tail tidy, inside a tube mounted behind the license plate. Super simple. (I do not have the motogadget ones...opted for the clones/original/copies/china...you get it. I paid less than 300 THB...that is US 9/Euro 8/UK 7... Check the bearded video...worth the crash test for me!
