So i'm sheltering in a shop doorway in the middle of typhoon ruby while my wife is buying some food, i was looking at the bike and noticed the hole in the frame, not sure what it's for probably a tooling hole?, anyway i thought i wonder if i could make a stand to fix a puncture on the road, historically we'd look for a tree stump or suchlike, but on your own it can be a real struggle, anyway i found a bit of GI pipe and voila!, works a treat, if someone wanted to make an upmarket version, say from alloy and hinged, maybe some screw out adjustable legs!.

Huh! That's good ol' Yankee ingenuity right there!

    Nicely done.

I use a similar technique to lube the chain - just stick a chunk of wood under the RH side footpeg so it sits on that + stand + front wheel with back wheel just clear.
