After seeing many others change their shocks, I decided to go for the Hagon option... Wow! My bike's done just over 4k miles and the OEM shock felt like a 10 year old office chair, completly knackered. I got the Hagon from here in the UK for £277 delivered and it was pretty easy to fit too, well worth it.
Suspension transforms this bike. I highly recommend getting the front done too. It doesn't cost near as much as the rear and it really makes a difference if you ride aggressively. I used the Race Tech kit, http://racetech.com/page/title/PR_2013_product_CRF250Lupgrades It was a little tricky to install, but the bike will take jumps now with out bottoming out, and still rides great on the road.
Hi Max, just drop Simon an email (at 'Bike revival') , he's quick to respond and the shock arrived quickly. Mine says 61025 on the box. http://www.bike-revival.co.uk/page1.html
the rear suspension on the crf250l is a joke. it overheats so fast and due to the muffler piping position it heats up even faster! i did custom work and upgraded the stock front and reat suspension to give me 12" of travel. but the dampening, (especially on the rear) is still lacking. altho still ideal for dual sport riding.
