Hey guys, I was performing an oil change on the bike and as I was tightened the oil filter screws to 9ft lbs I hear "snaaap". The screw broke in half. I was able to use a plyers to back the screw out when I got the oil filter cover back off. Question is, do I have thread damage?, or since I was able to back the remaining of the screw out, the threads were not damaged. I have read that sometimes the screws are built to pop before the threads. Anyway my next step is to get new screws and hand tighten them like the good old days. Any insights into 1. If my threads are damages. 2. How to not have this happen again.
I'm so mad I even purchased an excellent torque wrench.
    Thanks again!

threads are usually stronger then screws. and as for the 9ft-lb. honestly just tighten it tight with a standard wrench and youll be fine.
