Long time rider, grew up with Japanese dual sports. Have traveled quite a bit of the world on a BMW R1200GS Adventure and enjoy motorcycle travel. Recently bought a used 2014 CRF250L with about 200 miles on it. I am really enjoying this little bike! I am a builder and travel to jobsites quite a bit via motorcycle when I don't need a truck. The past few days I have been using the CRF and it's been absolutely stellar. I have also enjoyed some forest service and farm roads and some two track trails. In my humble opinion it's just a superb bike. Fires right up, runs great, and has a snicky positive trans. Looking forward to adding a rack, and probably a pelican case and a rotopak. Would be a great bike for doing the Washington and Oregon Back Country Discovery Routes, and both are practically in my back yard. Was really happy to find a forum dedicated to this great bike.
I grew up riding a 1970 something yamaha enduro 125 in eastern WA. Those were great days. I used to be able to ride from my house down a long dirt road, through my neighbors gravel pit, on through a long wooded canyon and would pop out behind my buddies house. I had no idea how lucky I was. Maybe I'll run into you sometime out on the trails.
