just thought i would share what i did last week. i took a cbr500r engine and swapped it into a crf250L , Result, a crf500L only one in the world! full build thread: http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/crf500l-full-build-thread.1077236/ this is the engine this bike should have came with! i love it, and the bike only weighs 362lb so it pulls so much harder then a cbr500r which is almost 100lb more... had to weld up a new lower frame.
WOW!!! That is awesome! Congrats. Not that I can do it any time soon (and I probably won't), but I was toying with the idea of swapping in the new CBR300R engine ... I think I should be able to do that without any frame mods.
