The lime-green-and-black 2016 Kawasaki ZX-6R KRT Edition looks good and is priced well at US$13K

Here's one for the race-replica fans - Kawasaki have unveiled the 2016 Ninja ZX-6R, which is available in lime-green and black Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) colours. While Kawasaki's supersports racing bikes are restricted to 599cc, the streetbike is powered by a 636cc inline-four, and according to Kawasaki, the extra 36cc gives the ZX-6R a small but significant advantage over its 600cc competition.

The latest ZX-6R KRT Edition's 16-valve, long-stroke, DOHC 636cc four-cylinder mill is, according to Kwacker, "a torque-rich, rev-happy, and supremely powerful engine that easily makes the transition from city street commuting to the wide-open racetrack, making its broad performance available to every rider. The increased performance developed by this larger capacity engine can be felt throughout the rev range, which is always appreciated for racing, but also provides a significantboost for everyday use. The larger engine means that low- to mid-range torque is significantly stronger compared to traditional 600cc bikes." Well, who would've thought that an extra 36cc would accomplish all that, eh?!

Other notable bits on the 2016 Ninja ZX-6R KRT include a cassette-type six-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, 3-mode traction control, 2 power modes, ABS, Nissin monobloc radial-mount brake calipers and 310mm petal-type brake discs at the front, Showa big-piston fork, bottom-link Uni-Trak suspension at the rear and LCD instrument panel. The bike costs US$12,999 and if you buy one, we believe you'd be a very happy man (or woman...) indeed.
