Shortly after midnight, a fire broke out in the specially constructed unit holding the MotoE machines, destroying all of the bikes and a large part of the equipment involved with the series. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the fire. Alex De Angelis, racing in the series for the OCTO Pramac team, posted a picture of the fire on his Instagram feed, showing the extent of the blaze.
