WE’VE known for a while that MV has been planning a ‘Dragster’ version of the Brutale 800 – and now it seems that bike is almost upon us.

This picture, revealed by a member of the mvagusta.net forum, shows a close-up of the tank badge on the bike.

Of course, since we already knew from the bike’s American homologation paperwork that it would be called the ‘Brutale 800 Dragster’ the ‘800 Dragster’ tank graphics don’t add much in terms of detail.

What can be seen is that the tank itself appears to be the same as the stock Brutale, as does what little of the frame that can be seen. The bike’s power and emissions, quoted on the American documents, are unchanged compared to the stock Brutale 800, so it’s safe to say the engine’s tune is also unaltered.

So, what will be the USP of the Dragster? Well, our guess is that it could have a lower stance with more raked forks than the stock Brutale, and just above the tank on the teaser image you can see what appears to be a cast aluminium handlebar bracket that’s nothing like the tubular bars and conventional bar clamps of the normal Brutale.

Given the appearance of the teaser image, it can’t be long now before we get to see the whole thing – it’s intended as a 2014 model, so the launch can’t be far off.
