2021 Triumph Trident: An Electrifying Dual-Sport For All Riding Styles

    Contents

The 2021 Triumph Trident is the British manufacturer’s newest edition to its 2021 lineup. The main motivation behind the Trident was for Triumph to fill some gaps in their lineup by providing a be-all-end-all mid-displacement roadster motorcycle to market, and to have a platform to build other models off of for the future. Before the Tridents release, the smallest displacement motorcycle offered from Triumph was the 765c Daytona / Speed Triple; meaning new and intermediate riders had an impassable barrier-to-entry when it came to joining the Triumph family.

The 2021 Trident is a dynamic and stripped down motorcycle featuring a minimalistic approach to design despite loads of tech and safety features. The bike is agile and provides riders with ample fun despite the smaller engine-size when compared to the other models in Triumph’s 2021 lineup.

Triumph has had extreme success with their previous inline-three engine configurations; this motorcycle is no omission. The Trident comes equipped with a torquey 660cc inline-three engine capable of producing 78 horsepower and 49 lb-ft of torque. An advantage of this new inline-three engine is the 10,000 mile service intervals, making it a perfect option for newer riders looking for a low cost of ownership over prolonged periods.

Other great features include a full colour TFT display, standard ABS, traction control, Showa upside down forks with an adjustable monoshock RSU, and two riding modes all bundled into a lightweight and flickable package. This new motorcycle comes in four total colour options and has great parts support from Triumphs 45 dedicated OEM accessories. For the price, this is an unbeatable value and welcomed addition to the Triumph motorcycle legacy.

The 2021 Triumph Trident starts at $7995 USD / $8995 CAD.

On this page: we’ve curated specs, features, news, photos/videos, etc. so you can read up on the new 2021 Triumph Trident in one place.

    2021 Triumph Trident Features

    THRILLING TRIPLE ENGINE PERFORMANCE

Central to the Trident 660’s power, agility, and thrilling performance is its 660cc engine; a Triumph triple-cylinder that delivers the perfect balance of strong torque (that is evident from low-down and right up through the range) which peaks at 47 LB-FT @ 6,250 rpm and exhilarating high-end power which peaks at 81HP @ 10,250 rpm.

In terms of ride quality, there’s an effortless feel to the Trident 660. Its smooth slick 6-speed gearbox was optimized for fun and rideability, while the slip and assist clutch provides a light action clutch that reduces rider fatigue, allowing you to enjoy riding this remarkable bike for even longer.

    CATEGORY-LEADING TECHNOLOGY AS STANDARD

The Trident 660’s multi-functional instruments with color TFT display provide all key information in a compact and uncluttered design for easy at-a-glance interaction while riding.

The display was designed specifically for the optional My Triumph Connectivity system that enables turn-by-turn navigation, GoPro control, plus phone and music interaction via the switchgear – all clearly displayed on the TFT screen.

The new Trident 660 benefits from category-leading rider electronics, including Road and Rain riding modes, which adjust the bike’s throttle and traction control maps for maximum rider control (with Rain mode bringing a softer map for improved safety), ride-by-wire throttle for crisp, precise throttle response, switchable traction control which manages power and torque when traction is compromised and Triumph’s latest generation ABS for additional rider safety.

Full LED lighting produces better performance for maximum rider safety. The new distinctively-styled 7” LED headlight was uniquely designed for the Trident 660, while the compact and integrated rear light was contoured to the shape of the tail unit. Self-cancelling LED indicators add to the Trident 660’s high level of rider convenience (local market restrictions may apply).

    AGILE, SPORTY & CONFIDENCE-INSPIRING RIDE

Being a Triumph motorcycle, the Trident delivers a confidence-inspiring ride that’s easy to control with incredibly reassuring handling, thrilling performance and fantastic reliability. With its light steering weight you get a sure-footed bike that’s maneuverable, agile and fun to ride, and its high-specification suspension and braking combine perfectly with the lightweight 17” sporty cast aluminum wheels for maximum agility.

As soon as you get onto this bike you’ll notice the relaxed riding ergonomics, because everything about the Trident 660 is designed to be your perfect everyday ride. The comfortable and practical twin seat has an accessible seat height of 31.69 in (805 mm), while the bike’s narrow width encourages a confidence-inspiring standing position with easy access to foot pegs, and a span-adjustable brake lever offers additional longer-ride comfort.

The Trident 660’s superior combination of suspension, tires, and brakes brings a comfortable, confidence-inspiring ride, including:

High-specification Showa suspension system (black upside down front forks with 4.72 in (120 mm) front wheel travel, and preload adjustable monoshock rear suspension unit delivering 5.25 in (133.5 mm) travel)

Versatile Michelin ‘Road 5’ tires fitted as standard ensuring performance and confidence in wet and dry conditions

Great stopping power from the Nissin braking system (2-piston sliding front calipers with twin 310 mm discs and single rear caliper & disc)

    INCREDIBLE VALUE

The Trident 660’s class-leading level of standard technology, high-specification suspension, brakes and tires, agile confidence-inspiring ride, thrilling triple engine performance, unique styling, and competitive price make this the perfect middleweight motorcycle choice – and the perfect entry point into the Triumph range.

A class-leading service interval of 10,000 miles (or 12 months) also contributes to the incredibly low cost of ownership.
    DISTINCTIVE STYLE

Incorporating Triumph’s design DNA with clean dynamic lines, this is a truly stunning motorcycle with a distinctive sporty and muscular stance and attitude. The Trident 660 is available in four different color schemes: Crystal White or Sapphire Black, both with contrasting decals, or twin color options of Matte Jet Black & Matte Silver Ice or Silver Ice & Diablo Red.

The bike is styled with features that elevate the Trident 660’s distinctive good looks, including a 3.7 gallon fuel tank designed with sculpted knee cut-outs, five-spoke black wheels cast in lightweight aluminum, and a minimalist rear end with swingarm-mounted license plate hanger and rear indicators. Contrasting painted radiator cowls, yokes, and heel guards, plus body-colored fork protectors, tapered aluminum handlebars, and teardrop-shaped mirrors all add to the exceptional level of finish on this bike.

Premium Triumph branding adds outstanding finishing touches. An inset aluminum Trident 660 badge with diamond-machined effect lettering is complemented by a machined Triumph badge on the fuel filler cap, a Triumph badge on the headlight and taillight, Triumph-branded handlebar clamp, and Triumph branding on the bike’s TFT instrument display face.(market restrictions may apply).
    GENUINE ACCESSORIES

You can personalize your new Trident 660 by choosing from a whole range of genuine Triumph accessories, developed alongside the bike itself and subjected to the same rigorous quality and testing processes. With over 45 on offer, including new Trident 660 luggage, the My Triumph Connectivity System (for navigation, GoPro control, phone and music operation), and accessories that bring even more comfort, protection, and style, you can enhance your Trident 660 in a multitude of ways.
